Spings days... summer days?
My last post was about spring and how lovely it is! Spring has come and gone and summer is flying by?! I was just posting on FB wondering where June and July went? I am excited for August because its my birthday month... but that also always signified the start of school and the colder days of fall!
Joey had a great spring. The pictures I am posting are one of the first spring days where he could stick his head out the window... they aren't that great as I was trying to drive (shhh!)... but you can tell he is enjoying it. The other pic is of him up at Ryan's farm. We went up there this spring so I could see the place and explore. We got to see Ryan's bees, the gardens, fruit trees and where he makes hay (which he isn't doing this summer). Its been great seeing all the life changing and growing up there over the course of the summer.
We went up to the cabin again for some "family" fun time and Joey of course loved it. I still can't get him to jump off the dock or the boat - but he will swim pretty far. He got so concerned when Ryan and I were out tubing because his people were out in the water while he was on the boat. We'll definitely be going up there again yet this summer so I'll have to post some picutes.

Sping Days
Joey has been getting outside a lot this week as my Dad is over at my house working on a paver patio... I certainly appreciate the patio/work and Joey certainly appreciates being able to lounge in the grass. He just seems like an overall much happier pup when he gets out.
On a different note, we did try to kennel him the other night and within 30 minutes he had started to break through some of the kennel door. Luckily he didn't escape and wreck anything (as he has in the past) but I think I am going to look into a platsic kennel.

How could this innocent looking guy do all this?
About a month back Joey started acting out again. I think he was jealous of my time - but I will never know. He kept escaping his kennel as seen previously, and then went into the garbage one day - much to my dismay. Basically, everyday when I came home I was dreading walking in the door. Now, Joey goes in "his room" which is the second bedroom while I am at work. My dad has been at the house a lot this last week - INTSTALLING A DISHWASHER (yay!!!) so he has had lots of company and seems very happy.
One interesting side note, I found out via Facebook that Joey's old Mom is expecting twins in Octber... I told Joe the good news and we both wish Danielle and Jameson a happy healthy pregnancy!

Day Four
I pretty much knew Joey was going to escape today, but I couldn't just give in and let him stay out of his kennel. So back in he went! Tonight I got home to a kennel flipped completely sideways! He even ripped a piece of metal from the kennel door! I don't know what he does while I am away, but I would love to have a video of it. Tomorrow Joey is going to Grandma and Grandpa's because I don't feel comfortable leaving him home alone in a kennel that has metal sticking out from it. I need to find a solution to Joey's escaping.
Day Three
Yesterday Joey escaped again - no surprise. He ripped the curtain I had on the back door leading to the three season porch. This stopped people from seeing all the way into my house... it was an old curtain - but I now have to keep all of the drapes closed in the three season porch to avoid potential "creepers" from peeking inside!
Day Two
Upon returning home the first day I discovered Joey was getting out of the side door... thinking I would outsmart him, I flipped his Kennel around and placed the side door against the side wall. I didn't think he would be able to push his way out. Again, when I got home, Joey was out of his house (this time I had shut my bedroom door) and his kennel was completely in tact, door latches closed shut and all. What he actually did this day was squeeze between the "front door" panel and the side door, how a 70 lb dog does this is beyond me - but somehow he did without seeming to appear hurt.
The Escape Artist has Returned! - Day One
Some of you may know that Joey is the master of escapes! When I first moved back I was kennelling him, then let him stay out of his "kennel" until he started leaving deposits for me in the house. Joey has been back in his kennel for a few months now and suddenly 4 days ago he got out. I came home started to see the shade to my back door rustled and hoping that no one was in the house. What I saw was Joey's head poking out the door and a beautiful hole eaten out of my duvet!
